Jace Atwell has been watching Melissa Cardenas for a while. Now it’s time to try to gain her trust in hopes of getting closer to her father Cyprian, who is most likely behind the deaths of innocent people. The plan is to rescue her from danger. Jace takes part in a setup with another member of his team, but it goes horribly awry when his partner starts shooting at Melissa—not part of the plan—and even worse when Cyprian shows up before he can gain her trust.
Melissa doesn’t know this man, but she defends him from her father’s men when they beat him. She decides to hire Jace as her bodyguard. She has been gathering information on her father and those who are connected to him, and is seeing ominous signs that he is involved in evil deeds. Trust will be hard to come by, as she and Jace don’t know they’re on the same side.
Lena Diaz’s latest “Exit, Inc.” thriller takes readers on a ride that starts on the first page and does not stop. While this is part of a series, this tale is easy to follow on its own. The journey is sometimes harrowing as loyalties are challenged.

Sabrina Hightower's house has been burglarized, and now she's been kidnapped. Who would do this to her? Is her cousin so desperate for the family money that he would go to these lengths to keep her from looking for their grandfather and proving he's still alive? She doesn't have any answers and has little ability to defend herself, as she has no clothing except a nightshirt and is without her glasses.
Mason Hunt's job is to kill Sabrina, but he has been alerted that his target might actually be innocent. Instead of executing her, he takes her with him so he can finish the job later if she truly is guilty. He has some help, but his source has gone rogue from EXIT, the secret agency he works for. His work as an enforcer for EXIT is important to him, and being declared rogue could be a death sentence.
Lena Diaz's latest launches a new series that connects to her prior series through some of the main characters, but can stand alone. The tale hits the ground running and rarely lets up, putting its heroine through the wringer on the way to the climax. The tortured hero is compelling, and readers will love him.

Emily O’Malley has her gifts as a detective for Savannah police department, but she has issues out in the field. Unfortunately, she’s alone when she spots Virginia Hawley, a woman reported as missing. She follows the woman’s kidnapper into a creepy building, but he and Virginia have disappeared. Finally, Emily finds her, only to discover she’s terrifyingly wrong, and it’s actually a skeleton.
A man appears, and she fires her weapon before realizing he’s not the suspect and unarmed. Here begins a whirlwind odyssey with the secretive, sexy-as-hell Devlin Buchanan. He won’t reveal much of anything to police, but Emily is suspicious of him, and her suspicions put her in the crosshairs of a deeply dangerous, shadowy organization.
Lena Diaz’s latest is the best yet in her "Deadly Games" thriller series. The twists and turns in the mystery yield unexpected answers as the characters find themselves in deeper and deeper peril. Emily and Devlin have killer sexual chemistry as well, though readers won’t know whether to love or hate Devlin at first.
