Yours to Hold: Ribbon Ridge Book Two
Kyle Archer won’t rest until he finds the supplier of the drugs that his brother Alex used to take his own life. His first lead is Alex’s therapist, Maggie Trent. He is angry with her because he thinks she should have known that Alex was suicidal, and blames her for his death. He comes across as threatening at first, but soon the dynamic begins to shift. Maggie has suffered the trauma of an emotionally abusive ex in the past, and the loss of her patient has sent her into a self-doubting tailspin. First Kyle hammers at her weakness, but then he softens, and they begin to work as a team. Add in their attraction, and things become very complicated indeed.
Darcy Burke’s second full-length “Ribbon Ridge” title is even better than the first. Maggie’s complex upbringing and Kyle’s gambling addiction add intriguing depth to the tale, and while Kyle’s tendency to get nasty when he’s on the attack can grate, his chemistry with Maggie sizzles.
