Lizbeth Lipperman~~ 4 1/2 and 5 Star Reviews
Maddy Castillo was a police officer dealing with Gino Bernardi, an obnoxious, temporary jail resident when her dead sister popped in unexpectedly. Tessa, the feisty sister who refused to stay in the afterlife, kept returning to help her sisters.
Maddy was threatened and forced into a quick decision, a decision that would place her as the main suspect in a murder. She had been strategically set up: the murder weapon, her Glock, the person in the video looked suspiciously like her, the witnessed placed her as his attacker and identified her as Bernardi’s murderer. When things went from bad to worse, the Garcia sisters, including Tessa, joined forces to learn the truth and clear Maddy.
Enter Jake Mathews, a PI and ex-cop, another set of eyes investigating Bernardi – and very curious about Maddy. Jake managed to worm his way into Maddy’s home and succeeded in pumping her and her family for information.
The Garcia sisters have returned in this fast-paced mystery, well written mystery that the reader will find hard to put down.
Heard it Through the Grapevine
Lainey Garcia and her sister Tessa were estranged and had not spoken for nine years--until Tessa was killed. Having Tessa's ghost appear to her at the funeral parlor did not make things easier. Tessa had unsolved issues; one of them was to find her killer. She wanted Lainey and the other Garcia sisters to help her.
Unfortunately, the problem was more of a conundrum than Lainey expected--too many suspects and not enough answers. The sisters had to come together to solve the crime, not necessarily by determining how many enemies their sister had, but how many of them were mad enough to plan and execute her murder.
Entertaining, intriguing, witty and downright delicious, Heard It Through the Grapevine is like a signature wine. Ms. Lipperman has created a masterpiece.
