The final book in the "House of Russell Victorian" historical romance series is Sophie, the youngest sibling's story. Left homeless when her old nurse went to live with a friend, she arrives at her old house (now owned by Viscount Griffiths), claiming to be the newly hired cook. Little does Sophie know that Alexander, Viscount Griffiths, actually retained the services of a mistress, and he thinks she's one and the same.
Sophie employs her beloved culinary skills and evades the tempting advances of the Dark Viscount while investigating if he’s responsible for her father’s murder and the Russells' fall from grace. Alexander is charmed by the cat and mouse game with his new cook/mistress, and the more he chases, the more he wants her, forever.
This is a fantastic novel, delightfully steamy and bewitchingly romantic. Alexander is impossible to resist, both for Sophie and the reader. Despite his dishonorable intentions, the reader will want him to win Sophie. Sophie is sweet and refreshingly well developed. Food descriptions increase the sensuality of this novel, already sizzling with sexual chemistry and rapturous romance. The reader will be satisfied with the conclusion, knowing that the three Russell women have gotten the only men who deserve their love.
