Aunt Dimity and the Village Witch

Nancy Atherton

Lori Shepherd lives in the small town of Finch. When someone new arrives, it becomes an event.  Mrs. Amelia Thistle arrived oblivious to the watchful eyes of the residents of Finch, only to be discovered as a fraud--sort of. Mrs. Thistle is incognito, a well-known famous artist who wants to keep her true identity a secret.

Needing a friend to talk to about her secret, Lori consulted her enchanted journal that is controlled by her mother's friend Dimity Westwood. Aunt Dimity gave her great advice, and Lori followed through, learning the truth about Amelia Thistle. As she and Amelia became acquainted, Amelia admitted she had an ulterior motive in moving to Finch.

This is a skillfully crafted tale with well‑developed characters and just the right amount of sleuthing to keep the readers flipping through the pages. If you haven't read Ms. Atherton before, you will want to find and read her previous books, well worth the read.
