Jennifer LaBrecque~~4 1/2 and 5 Star Reviews
Harlequin Blaze #598
When his best friend's leave is denied, Colton Sawyer reluctantly agrees to walk Andromeda "Andi" Mitchell down the aisle. He's known Andi since she was a child, and he can't imagine her married to someone else. Although he's wanted her for many years, he's never asked her out. When they were younger, the six‑year age difference was significant, and now he's a soldier fighting in Afghanistan, so he doesn't think it's right to tie a woman to him.
Andi has loved Sawyer for years without realizing it. When she sees Sawyer again, she discovers her feelings (and realizes she doesn't love her fiancé), so she sneaks out a window in full bridal regalia, intent on running away. Sawyer witnesses her escape attempt and plays chauffeur for her getaway. He doesn't plan to lay a finger on her, but plans often go awry....
We've all read versions of this plot before, but Jennifer LaBrecque provides the points of view of the family members left behind, including distinctive personality quirks that give the tale extra depth. The charismatic lead couple has a believable conflict as well as a sizzling attraction.
