Erick D. Burgess~~4 1/2 and 5 Star Reviews
Erick D. Burgess
When Alex Williams, a temperamental football star, asks his close friend Private Investigator Michael Drake to investigate suspicions of his wife Allison's infidelity, Drake reluctantly agrees. After Allison is brutally murdered, Drake makes it his personal mission to find the truth behind her attack. Was Allison the victim of a shadowy serial killer who has been quietly terrorizing women in Louisiana? Did her jealous husband murder her out of rage? Michael Drake relentlessly pursues the truth, even when it threatens to destroy his family, friendships, and even his life.
Erick D. Burgess weaves a soulful story set in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The writing flows smoothly and paints an easy picture for the reader. Burgess adds depth to the story by creating layered relationships and facing the harsh truth of racial differences in Louisiana. Burgess created many story lines to keep the reader guessing who did it all the way to the end. However, the ending was rushed and left too many story lines dangling. Perhaps a sequel is in the wind?
