The Amethyst Cat Caper
It’s 1934 and owning Egyptian antiquities is all the rage, but not everyone can afford such exclusive items. Remington Trueblood, looking for the perfect piece of art for his high society New York City tea house, purchases the beautiful replica of an ancient amethyst cat statue, but gets more than he bargained for when his replica turns out to be the real thing.
The notorious Gentleman Thief is not happy that the Amethyst Cat has slipped through his fingers, and he’ll stop at nothing to get it back. Much to his consternation it’s not as easy as he had hoped it would be because Detective Stanley Hawk is on the case and is determined to see the statue returned to its rightful owner and the Gentleman Thief brought to justice.
Working together to keep the Amethyst Cat hidden and catch a thief, Remi and Hawk are instantly attracted to one another, but can their barely off the ground relationship survive when everything around them is going to hell?
The Amethyst Cat Caper is a fast paced, action/mystery with a classic noir feel to it, and Charlie Cochet has woven a tale that grabs hold and doesn’t let go. Remi and Hawk complement each other perfectly, and their relationship struggles, while not a main focus of the story, are compelling. This is a truly wonderful, sexy, romantic adventure and will definitely become a favorite for fans of male/male romance!
