Yasmine Galenorn~~4 1/2 and 5 Star Reviews
The D'Artigo sisters, half‑human and half‑fey, are back in this ninth installment of their fascinating series. The sisters have turned in their badges to The Otherworld Intelligence Agency and are on their own in the war with Dark Wing and Demonkind. Menolly, acrobat and vampire, takes the lead in this installment, since there is a vampire serial killer on the loose. While on the hunt for this killer, they find that a large group of hungry ghosts are very active in the downtrodden part of town where their serial killer hunts. Menolly strikes a deal with one of the elder fey, Ivana Krask and, as such things go, doesn't realize how many strings are attached to dealing with the elder fey. In her hunt she also turns to Roman one of the most powerful vampires around, and he offers more than she could have hoped for. What he expects in return is certainly more than she bargained for.
Galenorn certainly spins a great yarn, and it seems that each book just gets better and better. All three of the sisters are different and unique in their own right, and I like how a different sister takes the lead in each of the books. I would recommend reading the series from the beginning. While this one, and all of them, will stand alone, they are much better reads as a whole.
