Julia writes werewolf romances. What her loyal readers don't know is that Julia, herself, is a werewolf. Ian is a Scottish laird and also the Alpha werewolf of his pack. Financial troubles have forced him to allow a movie to be shot at his castle and Julia gets a job with the movie crew. She has two reasons for coming to Scotland: researching her next novel, and finding a small wooden box that her grandfather says is hidden in Ian's castle. In times past, Julia's family lived in the castle. They had to leave abruptly, and the box was left behind. It contains something that Julia's grandfather is desperate to recover. She asks him what it is,
but Granddad tells her not to worry about it; just get the box and bring it home to him unopened.
Ian knows that Julia is up to something, but he doesn't know what. Despite his worries about what she is planning, he finds himself falling in love. Julia returns his love, but her refusal to reveal what she's searching for is causing problems. She wants to tell him, but her grandfather has forbidden it. Meanwhile, an ancient enemy plots death and destruction.
This is a continuation of a series. It can be read alone and is a really good book.
