Marie Donovan~~4 1/2 and 5 Star Reviews
Harlequin Blaze #644
Lily Adams loves to travel, and, in fact, writes a travel blog but has never gone out of the country. She's very excited to go on a trip to France. She knows almost no French, but she expects to have her cousin there with her until a difficult pregnancy causes her cousin to cancel. Gamely, she goes alone, staying in a hostel. Then she meets Jack Montford, a scruffy Frenchman who shows her the sights of Paris, then offers to take her to Provence.
Jack presents himself as a simple aid worker recovering from a case of dysentery that he contracted in Myanmar. He is far more than an aid worker; he is a doctor and the Comte de Brissard. Having just been burned by an unfaithful social‑climbing fiancée, he wants a woman to want him for who he is, not the social prestige he can bring. He realizes fairly quickly that Lily is not that kind of girl, but he fears that once his deception is revealed, their wonderful times will end.
Marie Donovan's latest is the second in a series, but it stands alone. Keep a fan handy for the extraordinary sex scenes, but stay for the emotional resonance and enjoy!
