Lady Juliana D'Aubernville is in trouble. Living in hiding from the very people who are rescuing her, Juliana is scooped up and dashed to safety as an attack ensues. Her striking, yet fierce, golden‑haired savior totally confuses and intrigues Juliana, as does his surprising kindness, his strength and intelligence.  Suddenly she is questioning her purpose in leaving, making her escape much more complicated and her identity much more dangerous.

Aidan MacKetryck has always been impulsive and reckless, but grabbing the woman in the midst of battle, hauling her to safety, then insisting on keeping her beats all, even for him.  What is it about this feisty, mysterious woman who draws him so strongly that, against all judgment, he determines to make her his?

Another winner from an author who is quickly becoming a five star standout in sizzling hot, can't‑put‑down, delicious, exciting romance!  To enjoy this book, one must enjoy touches of humor, chemistry that pops, plots that twist and steam that rises for pages‑-bottom line, not for the weak of heart.  Even with the slightly confusing healer hallucinations, this is Scottish escapism at its very best!

After a night of drinking and revelry with his men, Payton, laird of the impoverished Dunn-Fadden clan and his men get the wild idea to storm the keep of the very wealthy Caruths. With most of the Caruth men away, Payton suddenly finds himself, not only the victor but also the husband of the Caruth heiress. As the keep’s men come storming back for blood, Payton quickly “marks” his prize.

After being forced into a quick marriage to the man who has just killed her people and destroyed her home, Dallis Caruth vows to find a way to rid herself of this low-born husband she does not want. Her attempts all fail, however, as he proves himself an undefeatable champion, as well as an infuriating, handsome and determined man.

This story is as close to the perfect romance as I have read in a long time. It is can’t-put-down exciting with enough steamy romance to burn the pages and melt a heart. Peyton and Dallis’ characters are wonderfully written, terribly frustrating yet surprisingly real. The story is classic but with twists that make it undeniably unique. Bravo, Ms. Ivie!
