Mary Wine has written over twenty novels that take her readers from the pages of history to the far reaches of space. When she’s not abusing her laptop, she spends time with her sewing machines. Making historical garments is her second passion, from corsets and knickers to court dresses of Elizabeth I. The most expensive clothes she owns are hundreds of years out of date. Mary is also an active student of martial arts, having earned the rank of second degree black belt.

When did you start writing and why?

I actually started writing a book when I was in High school. Would carry around this binder….no, it never got finished. Those things called computers were just showing up and that beat the tar out of hand writing! Well, life happened, marriage, kids, I picked up my quill again in early 2002 and write what would become ‘Dream Shadow’.

What have you learned about writing since you started?

It’s tons harder than you think! But I love it all the way to my toes!

Tell us about your new book or series.

Take To the Limit is book four in my Unbroken Heroes….I love this series. It’s complex and challenging to write but I love that the story complexity gives my characters three dimensions. Yes, it’s a romance but I want it to be one that is believable.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

On a cruise ship, looking at the Hubbard glacier, with my family.

Do you have any hobbies?

Sewing. I love to make historical clothing.

What is the worst thing about being an author?

Honestly, rude reviews….honest isn’t a license to be mean. I certainly don’t expect everyone to like my books but I work hard on them, never doubt that.

What is your favorite thing about being an author?

Oh man….I get to listen to the voices in my head!

How many books do you currently have out on the market and what genres do they fall into?

It’s somewhere around forty between Mary Wine and Dawn Ryder….I do historical, contemporary, and paranormal….

What can we expect from you next?

End of the summer will bring two titles….Take To the Limit by Dawn Ryder and Highland Flame by Mary Wine.

Pass on some words of wisdom, please, to aspiring authors.

Quitters never win, and winners never quit……
